Assistant City Manager

Performs advance administrative and professional work in planning, organizing, and directing assigned departments and functions. Work involves serving as the economic development professional, providing strategic, direction for the city, ensuring effective and efficient operations, researching and formulating long-rang goals for the organization, developing policy and position papers, and advising the city manager and/or officials. Reports to the city manager.

Requires a master’s degree in public administration or closely related field supplemented by five to six years of considerable experience in governmental policy and procedure, including thorough knowledge of state of law governing administration; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities. Must have valid South Carolina drivers license.
